This is a relationship, not a bundle of hours: no timesheets and no per-call charges. Short supporting documents are included; development and substantial delivery work are separate.

Hands-on development

I remain available for hands-on contract roles, including full-time assignments, for organisations that need experienced, practical help delivering or rescuing an online project.

Available on an agreed day rate, with particular experience in PHP, Laravel, JavaScript and modernising established systems. I don’t undertake development for organisations or suppliers I am independently reviewing.

20+ yearsI’ve spent more than two decades building and improving websites, applications and online platforms. That experience helps me spot technical risks and avoidable complexity.

CTO experienceI’ve led engineering teams, suppliers and major technical change from inside organisations. I understand the commercial and human pressures around the work, not just the code.

Still hands-onI still write, review and diagnose production code. I can go into the detail myself, then explain what matters in plain English.
